Heartbeat

We got to hear the baby's heartbeat at yesterday's appt.  It was so great!  I don't want to have a negative spin, but it just gives me a great feeling and reassurance that there is still a miracle inside growing and developing to meet us someday. Plus at the appt. it was little comical because when the doctor would push down where the baby was, we would hear the strong heartbeat and then the baby would move out of the way.  Then Dr. Strong would find the heartbeat again and it was like the baby was playing with her and would get out of range again.  Dr. Strong said it sometimes is a little tricky because there is so many places the baby could be.  I had perfect results from my lab tests, fantastic blood pressure, and I had lost 3 lbs.  I was overweight before I got pregnant so I wanted to be sure  it was okay that I am losing weight instead of gaining.  Dr. Strong said that she has patients that just maintain their same weight throughout the whole pregnancy.  I know I have said this before, but it sure does help you stay accountable and do better with just being more aware of your health choices when you have a little being growing inside of you.  Our next appt. will be Jan 5th.  We will get our 21 week ultrasound then and get to see the baby's developed anatomy.  We again aren't going to find out what the baby is.  We feel there is just so many far and few inbetween surprises in life that have such a great blessing at the end.

How exciting!!! Itsn't it amazing to see that little gremlin growing inside?! I remember both of our babies' ultrasounds when we saw an acutal baby shape for the first time. It was such a neat time for Ryan and me.
Good job you, loosing 3 lbs! Keep up the good work. That takes a lot of discipline during pregnancy, I know I wanted to eat everything and use the baby as an excuse :) I"m proud of you! That's just less work you'll have to do after that munchkin is born.
Good job!

I actually lost weight for most of my pregnancy. I started gaining it back a bit and then she was born early. Four weeks later it turns out I am now 24 pounds lighter than when I got pregnant.
